WELCOME to St. Thomas à Becket Catholic College website.
We are a voluntary aided Catholic College for boys and girls aged 11-16
from Wakefield and the surrounding areas.
Our kidz are a whizz at quiz
Three bright and extremely brave year 10 pupils volunteered to
represent St Thomas à Becket at the local Worldwise geography
quiz held at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School.
Some of the questions were pretty hard, for example would you know
which London Borough contains the Districts of Belsize Park and
Kentish Town, or the anti-congestion scheme introduced by the Mayor
of Paris? Ryan, Niamh and Joe did!
Despite a spirited and sportsmanlike effort we didn’t win,
but nonetheless all three performed fantastically and were superb
ambassadors for our school. An enjoyable evening was had by everyone
and the geography department are extremely proud of them. Their
participation in this quiz means that St Thomas à Becket
are eligible to be invited by the Geographical Association to participate
in competitive fieldwork weekend at Malham Tarn.
By the way, the answers to the above: Camden and Velib-low rent
bicycles.
