Fundraising
and Appeal a Huge Success!
After a successful day's fundraising the college raised over
£900 for Children in Need and has had around 200 present boxes
donated for the Operation Christmas Child appeal.
On Friday, 16th November St Thomas held a non-uniform day to raise
money for Children in Need. As part of the day students also dressed
in fancy dress and some brave individuals even had their legs waxed!
As of Monday, 19th we have raised over £900 but the money
is still coming in.
Earlier in the year the college also started collecting for the
Samaritan's
Operation Christmas Child appeal. The appeal is the world's
largest children's Christmas project. Since 1990 the project has
brought the joy of Christmas to more than 47 million boys and girls
throughout the world. Last year 1.24 million shoe boxes were sent
from the UK to children in hospitals, orphanages, Internally Displaced
Persons camps, homeless shelters and impoverished neighbourhoods.
The college has currently donated nearly 200 boxes for the appeal.
Thank you to all those who have taken part in the fundraising and
appeals and the contributions they have made.
