Year 10 get a taste of Industry
On the penultimate week of the Summer term, our year 10 students were
taken off timetable for four days to enable them to participate in
Enterprise and Industry Week 2008....

Lourdes - We Were Born For This
Sometimes in life, seeing is believing, and yet sometimes believing
is seeing. We get told about places that we can never truly understand
until we have experienced them. You could see all the pictures in
the world and never quite understand the place itself. This year
on our trip to Lourdes, through the belief in our faith and the
belief in ourselves, we experienced a week that touched not only
our hearts, but others also....

Fifty Year 8 pupils enjoyed a journey into the past at Sandal Castle
last term. During two hour sessions at the Castle, pupils were given
the opportunity to tour the site and asked to consider how to describe

Y10 learn about the 'Miracle of Life'
" I thought the LIFE day was an interesting experience because
a lot was learned during the day." In the first session a woman
call Eileén Maher, from the LIFE charity in Sheffield, came
to St. Austin’s theatre to talk about the miracle of life with
Year 10 pupils. She told us about the difference stages in which a

THE latest Key Stage 4 performance tables released by the DfES on
Thursday, 19 January, show St Thomas à Becket Catholic College
has one of the best contextual value added figures in Wakefield and
has the highest pass rate for the fourth year running using the new
