Northern Ballet Workshop

GCSE Dance students and Gifted and Talented pupils took part in a Northern Ballet Theatre Workshop on the 26th September 2006. The workshop included learning repertoire from their current production of The Three Musketeers which was being performed at the West Yorkshire Play house.

Pupils from St Thomas a Becket Catholic College had the chance to develop their Ballet technique along with sampling choreographic tasks. Not only did they receive professional tuition, they had a chance to dance with and learn from one of the male lead dancers from the actual piece.

The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the day even though many found it extremely hard and physically demanding. All pupils gained valuable lessons in dance technique, performance and character development which may be the starting point for some of their own choreography.

We look forward to working with Northern Ballet Theatre again soon.
