Pupils put through their paces in Aberdovey

Year 9 NUMU Project

On Friday the 22nd May, some year 9 pupils put their voices to good use, performing renditions of fabulous tunes.
The project involved each group choosing a song, deciding on the arrangement and learning how to use the equipment. After working on the project for a number of weeks the recording day finally arrived. Our bodies filled with anticipation.
After the other group had finished, Mr Park directed us to the microphones. The room had been transformed into a recording studio. The backing track started and we were ready to record. Everyone was really pleased with their performances, proud of the effort that they had put in and chuffed to be in the paper.
Once our recordings were completed, we were introduced to the website ‘numu’ (numu.org.uk). The website enabled us to show off our talent and to get feedback on our work.
Overall “numu” has been a brilliant experience to be a part of. It made our music lessons more diverse and enjoyable. Everyone got something out of it: whether it was a confidence boost; or an opportunity to show their talents. We believe the future year 9’s will thoroughly enjoy this experience.
