Year 10 hovercraft challenge

This event is aimed to encourage female students to consider careers in engineering and aerospace. It forms part of the Aimhigher activity in Wakefield designed to support young people into higher education.

100, year 10 girls from 13 schools took part in the challenge. They had to design and build a hovercraft using foam boards plastic skirting and adhesives tape following instructions given to them, the day was a great success.
