Year 9 Boys bust some moves!
Year
9 boys were treated to a Break dance workshop as part of their PE lessons.
This was delivered by Chris from Junior Jam.
They learnt top rock, get downs, belly threads and many more exciting
break dance moves. They worked hard for over 2 hours learning set break
dance moves and trying out more advanced freezes and threads.
All the boys worked really hard and had great fun learning and perfecting
their styles. Many of them have now joined the Break dance sessions and
are thinking of opting for dance as one of their options in Year 10.
Chris, the tutor, was a professional break dancer who currently travels
the world competing with this ‘crew’ in many break dance competitions.
After completing his A’ Level dance studies, he went to university
to study Dance at degree level. He then combined his martial arts and
dance knowledge together and became the amazingly talented break dancer
we know today.
"I was so impressed with the boy’s ability
and attitude. They seemed to have a great time. It was great to see all
of them working so hard and we definitely have some very talented dancers
in year 9." Mrs McIntyre
We are hoping to establish a Break dance class at school so keep your
eyes on the PE/Dance notice boards.
